My quick reaction:
100 politicians murdered ahead of the biggest election in Mexico's history! When I saw the number, I almost fell off my chair. What does this say about Mexico? The cartels are prepared to go to great lengths to gain control over municipal governments to secure drug-trafficking routes. Mexico should have been the biggest winner of the continuing US-China trade war, but its descent into lawlessness will discourage a significant increase in direct foreign investments. President Obrador's non-confrontational approach to fighting drug cartels will cost the country a historic opportunity to lift a big section of its population out of poverty.
