FT: Big Tech critic Lina Khan to lead US competition regulator

My quick reaction:

Lina Khan has the potential to become the most important appointment of the Biden administration. She has two things going for her. One, taking on tech monopolies has become a rare bipartisan issue in Washington, evidenced by the fact that her appointment was approved by the Senate in a 69-28 vote. Two, the framework she is proposing for dealing with tech monopolies like Amazon is well known and has already gained mainstream acceptance in antitrust circles. All this means that she has a good chance to bring about fundamental changes. Her first test will be the refiling of the lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission and 46 states against Facebook that was dismissed by a Federal judge two weeks ago on grounds that the FTC did not show sufficient evidence for its claim that Facebook is a monopoly.
