By the way, I am wondering there might be some relief rally on 1H October. However, from your stand point. Is it worth to participate? (Such like mid June to mid Aug.) If yes, why? If not, why?(not against the major trend or it is too difficulty to manage both long and short mentally)

Yes we could well get a relief rally when corporate buybacks return. From our perspective, I think we participate by reducing risk as opposed to flipping to long.

Dear David and John,


Congratulation for the out-performance and your new business. Can you please help me for the following questions?


(1) For David and John, where can be the best places to place on 4Q22?(You guys know I will ask.) We probably will enter into some place like 4Q18 but it was a massive sell-off. Do you see that will happen in 4Q22 or 1Q23? In addition, for John, I like A&D too but they also get slaughtered in liquidity regimes. Can this time some different?


(2) Dear John, would 2023 be a worse year for risky assets compared to 2022? Or we just leave the worst on 22? Or the worst is just for US but not ROW?

Sam, My gut tells me that Biden ordered the attack on Nordstream 1& 2 (It makes no sense that Putin would destroy the key lever he has over Europe). If I am right, this reckless move would likely be viewed by Putin as a declaration of war. I assume Biden’s people think Russian reaction will stir American patriotism and help the hapless Democrats in the midterms. I also assume that this move will take care of the anti-sanctions voices that are growing in Germany and elsewhere. Whatever the reason, this represents the most serious escalation of the war since the invasion
