This was truly insightful. Maybe the next major test of this will be in drones. Coming into the war, the perception was that China was ahead in consumer drones through DJI, but the US had top secret advanced drone technology. Russia was seen as backwards here, and no one talked much about Iran.
Fast forward a year and a half. There are reports that the Russians have dramatically improved drone production and reach. Whether that is because of Iranian prototypes, Russian scientists, or Chinese components, no one has any real idea. Ukraine may demand as much equipment as they can, but they can't make this stuff. The US is throwing a lot of money, but it is not existential. But…
