This may very well be the fog of war speaking but I am perplexed that anyone thinks the Russia-Ukraine war is anywhere close to being over. US foreign policy adventures show that wars last a lot longer than people ever expected. I doubt LBJ thought Vietnam would cost him his presidency and US troops would be involved until 1973 (almost a decade). We were in Afghanistan 20 years. We are still in Syria. And that doesn't even mention WW1 and WW2.
I don't think anyone truly knows the casualty numbers. The Ukrainians know what NATO wants to hear. Why are we surprised when Ukraine exaggerates the level of Russian casualties? Our intelligence sources clearly have no idea of how much…
